Overview

Santiago VPS Hosting for Chile & the Southern Cone

Chile has built one of the most advanced digital infrastructures in Latin America. The country regularly ranks at or near the top of the region for fixed broadband speeds, fibre coverage has expanded rapidly and Chilean consumers are enthusiastic online shoppers. For businesses serving this market, a Chile VPS is the most direct way to take advantage of those fast local networks.

Santiago, home to around 40% of Chile's population, is the country's economic centre and its primary data center hub. A Santiago VPS places your server close to the ISPs that serve most Chilean users, avoiding the extra latency of routing traffic to Brazil, the United States or Europe.

Every Vebloom VPS in Chile runs on KVM virtualization with NVMe SSD storage. You get an isolated virtual machine with guaranteed CPU cores and memory, full root access and a dedicated Chilean IPv4 address. Host a Spanish-language website, an online store, a business application, an industrial dashboard or a Windows Server environment — the server is entirely under your control.

Chile's long, narrow shape means geography really matters. From Santiago, a Chilean VPS server reaches Valparaíso and Concepción in under 10 ms, while Buenos Aires is typically around 22 ms and Lima around 50 ms. Looking further ahead, projects such as the planned Humboldt subsea cable aim to link South America directly with the Asia-Pacific via Chile.

Our eleven Chile VPS plans start at $14.99/month and scale to 96 GB of RAM with 24 cores. From a cheap Chile VPS for a small project to a high-memory Linux VPS in Chile for production workloads, the price you sign up at is the price you renew at — and each region publishes its own plans and prices up front.

Why Santiago

Why Choose a Santiago VPS?

Chile combines some of Latin America's best connectivity with a stable economy — and Santiago is at the centre of it.

Latin America's Fast Internet Leader

Chile consistently ranks among the fastest fixed broadband countries in Latin America. A Santiago VPS lets you make the most of those high-speed local networks.

Local Speed Across Chile

Chile's long, narrow geography makes distance matter. Hosting in Santiago keeps latency low for the country's largest population centres.

Stable Business Environment

Chile is known for its stable institutions and open economy, making it a trusted base for regional operations in South America.

Mining, Energy & Industry

Chile's mining and energy sectors rely on data, telemetry and business systems — all well suited to a local, always-on VPS.

Reach Across the Southern Cone

Buenos Aires is typically around 22 ms from Santiago, and Montevideo, São Paulo and Lima are within roughly 30–50 ms.

Modern Data Protection

Chile has adopted a new personal data protection law with a dedicated regulator, and local hosting helps simplify data residency conversations.

Network Reach

Low-Latency Reach From Your Chile VPS

A VPS in Santiago keeps latency very low for users in central Chile, where most of the population lives. That means faster websites, smoother real-time applications and a better experience for Chilean customers.

Santiago also offers good reach across the Southern Cone and the Andean region. For audiences mainly in Brazil, our São Paulo location is usually faster, and for North America we recommend Dallas — both at the same price.

From Santiago toTypical latency
Valparaíso, Chile~4 ms
Concepción, Chile~8 ms
Buenos Aires, Argentina~22 ms
Montevideo, Uruguay~30 ms
São Paulo, Brazil~45 ms
Lima, Peru~50 ms
Bogotá, Colombia~85 ms
Miami, USA~120 ms
Los Angeles, USA~145 ms

Approximate round-trip times over typical routes. Real-world latency varies with your ISP, peering and time of day.

Use Cases

What You Can Run on a Chile VPS

From CyberDay-ready stores to industrial telemetry, a Santiago VPS gives Chilean businesses dedicated resources and full control.

Chilean E-commerce

Host WooCommerce, Magento or PrestaShop stores for Chilean shoppers, with dedicated resources to stay fast during CyberDay and holiday sales.

Mining & Industrial Data

Collect telemetry, run monitoring dashboards and host operational systems for mining, energy and industrial companies operating in Chile.

Fintech & Business Apps

Deploy financial dashboards, payment integrations, ERP systems and B2B portals for Chile's well-developed business sector.

SaaS for the Andean Region

Launch Spanish-language SaaS products and APIs for customers in Chile, Peru, Argentina and beyond from one central location.

Streaming & Media Delivery

Serve video, audio and large files to audiences in Chile and neighbouring countries, protected by included DDoS mitigation.

VPN & Remote Access

Set up a private VPN with a Chilean IP address for remote teams, secure access to company systems or testing localised content.

Plan Guide

Which Chile VPS Plan Is Right for You?

All 34 plans share the same KVM platform, NVMe storage and Santiago network. The only difference is how much CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth you get, so the right choice depends on what you plan to run.

1–2 GB RAM

Starter Projects

With 1–2 GB RAM and a single CPU core, these plans suit personal websites, landing pages, a small WordPress blog, a private VPN, Discord or Telegram bots, cron jobs and development sandboxes. They are the most affordable way to get root access and a dedicated IP in Santiago.

4–8 GB RAM

Growing Businesses

Our most popular range. 4–8 GB RAM and 2–4 cores comfortably run WooCommerce stores, several WordPress sites behind a control panel, Node.js or Laravel apps, internal tools and CI runners. Most businesses serving Chile start here.

8–16 GB RAM

Performance Workloads

8–16 CPU cores and 16–32 GB RAM give you room for busy databases, SaaS platforms, Docker and Kubernetes nodes, high-traffic media sites, analytics pipelines and several production services on one server.

16 GB RAM and above

Data-Heavy & High Concurrency

With 16–32 GB RAM and 8–16 CPU cores, these plans handle large databases, search engines, media processing, CPU-based AI inference and enterprise applications that need to stay close to users in Chile.

Not sure where to start? Pick the smaller plan that fits today and upgrade as you grow — moving from one Chile VPS plan to a larger one usually needs only a brief restart and your data stays in place. Because every Vebloom region prints its plans and prices up front, adding servers in other regions later is just as easy to budget for.

Included

Everything Included With Every Chile VPS

No setup fees and no paid add-ons for the essentials — every plan ships with the same core features.

Instant Deployment

Your Chile VPS is provisioned automatically, usually within about 60 seconds of payment. Choose your operating system, set your credentials and connect — no ticket queue and no manual setup delays.

DDoS Protection

Multi-layer DDoS mitigation is included on every plan at no extra cost. Malicious traffic is filtered before it reaches your server, helping keep your Santiago VPS online during attacks.

Full Root Access

Complete administrative control over your server. Install any software stack, tune kernel parameters, write your own firewall rules and run whatever services your project needs — no restrictions.

NVMe SSD Storage

All plans use NVMe SSD storage, which reads and writes far faster than traditional SATA SSDs. The result is quicker page loads, snappier databases and faster builds and backups.

Automated Backups

Daily automated backups keep your data safe, with seven days of snapshots available so you can restore your VPS to a previous state if an update or deployment goes wrong.

24/7 Expert Support

Our engineers are available around the clock via live chat, email and WhatsApp to help with provisioning, networking and server-level issues whenever you need them.

Data Residency

Data Protection & Residency in Chile

Chile has adopted a new personal data protection law, Law No. 21.719, which modernises the country's framework, strengthens data subject rights and creates a dedicated Personal Data Protection Agency. As the new regime comes into force, it replaces the earlier rules under Law No. 19.628, and many Chilean organisations are reviewing how and where they store personal data.

Hosting your VPS in Santiago keeps the data stored on that server inside Chile. That can simplify data residency conversations with Chilean customers, partners and enterprises, particularly in regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare and public services.

Server location is only one part of compliance. With full root access to your Chile VPS, you control encryption, access management, logging, backups and data retention, and you remain responsible for meeting your legal obligations. Our team is happy to discuss your requirements before you deploy.

Setting Up Your Chile VPS

From Order to a Secure Server: Your First Hour on a Chile VPS

A VPS gives you full control, which means the setup is yours to do. These steps are the ones we recommend for any new server in Santiago, Chile.

1Choose the Operating System

Most websites and applications run on Linux. Ubuntu LTS and Debian are the most common choices, because they are widely documented, receive long security support and are easy to find help for. AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux suit people who prefer the Red Hat family. Choose Windows only when you need Windows software, such as .NET applications or trading terminals.

Pick the system you or your developer already know. A familiar system is easier to secure and to fix when something goes wrong.

2Log In and Update the Server

After your Chile VPS is delivered, you receive its IP address and login details. Connect from a terminal with SSH, using the root login first, then update the system straight away so that known security fixes are installed.

  • Connect with ssh root@your-server-ip and change the root password if you are asked to
  • Update the package list and installed software with the system's package manager, such as apt update && apt upgrade on Ubuntu or Debian
  • Restart the server if the update installs a new kernel
  • Set the server's time zone and hostname so that logs are easy to read

3Secure Access Before Anything Else

A public server is probed within minutes of going online, so secure access first. Create a normal user with sudo rights, add an SSH key for it, and then disable password logins and direct root login in the SSH settings. Keys are far harder to guess than passwords.

  • Create a new user and give it sudo rights
  • Generate a key pair on your computer with ssh-keygen -t ed25519 and copy the public key to the server
  • Turn off password authentication and root login in the SSH configuration, then test a new session before closing the old one
  • Turn on a firewall such as UFW, and allow only the ports you need (SSH, and 80 and 443 for web)
  • Install Fail2ban to block repeated failed logins

Always keep one working SSH session open while you change SSH or firewall settings, so that a mistake does not lock you out.

4Install Your Web Stack

Install only what you need. A typical website uses a web server (Nginx or Apache), PHP or another runtime, and a database such as MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL. A Node.js application usually runs behind Nginx as a reverse proxy, managed with a process manager.

Add HTTPS with a free certificate from Let's Encrypt, using Certbot, and set it to renew automatically. Point your domain's A record at the server's IP address, and give DNS a little time to spread. If you need a domain, you can register one with us.

5Backups and Monitoring

A server without backups is a risk waiting to happen. Schedule daily backups of your files and databases and keep copies in a different place from the server, then test restoring one. Monitor disk space, memory and CPU, and set up an uptime check that emails you when the site stops responding.

Updates matter too. Turn on automatic security updates where suitable, and review the server once a month.

6When to Upgrade or Add Servers

Watch your resource use over a few weeks. If memory, CPU or disk are regularly near their limit, move to a larger plan. If you need to serve users in another part of the world, add a second server in that region rather than overloading one location. Our guide to choosing a VPS location explains how to decide.

More Questions

More About a Chile VPS

Extra answers for new server owners.

Do I need to know Linux to use a VPS?
Basic command-line skills help a lot, because you manage the server yourself. If you would rather not, ask our team about setup, or choose managed web hosting.
How quickly is my server ready?
Provisioning is automated, so most servers are ready shortly after payment is confirmed, and the login details are sent to you.
Can I run a website and a database on the same VPS?
Yes. Many small and medium sites run the web server and database together. Larger projects separate them as traffic grows.
Can I install a control panel?
Yes. Because you have root access, you can install a control panel of your choice, or manage the server directly from the command line.
Can I use the VPS for email?
You can, but running reliable email takes care with DNS records, reputation and security. Many businesses use a hosted mailbox and keep the VPS for applications.
What if I choose the wrong location?
A VPS stays in the location it was ordered in, so choose carefully. To change, order a server in the new place and move your data across.
