Overview

Mexico City VPS Hosting for Mexico & Latin America

Mexico is one of Latin America's largest economies and home to one of the region's biggest online populations. Tens of millions of Mexicans shop, bank, study and stream online every day, and e-commerce continues to grow year after year. For businesses targeting this market, a Mexico VPS is one of the best ways to deliver a fast, local experience.

Mexico City, the country's capital and largest metropolitan area, is the natural location for a VPS in Mexico. It is the centre of Mexican business, government and media, and hosting there helps keep traffic closer to Mexican ISPs rather than sending every request to servers in the United States and back.

Every Vebloom Mexico City VPS runs on KVM virtualization with NVMe SSD storage. You get an isolated virtual machine with guaranteed CPU cores and memory, full root access and a dedicated Mexican IPv4 address. Host a Spanish-language website, an online store, an ERP system, an internal tool or a Windows Server environment — the server is entirely under your control.

Mexico's growing role in nearshoring and manufacturing has also increased demand for reliable business applications close to operations. A Mexican VPS server is well suited to supplier portals, logistics tools and internal systems for companies with factories, warehouses and offices across the country, while Houston and Dallas remain within roughly 35–40 ms for teams working across the border.

Our eleven Mexico VPS plans start at $14.99/month and scale to 96 GB of RAM with 24 cores. From a cheap Mexico VPS for a first project to a Linux VPS in Mexico for production, the price you sign up at is the price you renew at — and each region publishes its own plans and prices up front, including Brazil and Chile for the rest of Latin America.

Why Mexico City

Why Choose a Mexico City VPS?

Local hosting in Mexico City brings your applications closer to one of Latin America's largest and fastest-growing online audiences.

A Large Online Audience

Mexico has one of the biggest internet populations in Latin America. Hosting locally helps your website and apps load quickly for users across the country.

Faster Than Hosting in the US

Serving Mexican visitors from servers in the United States adds distance and hops. A Mexico VPS keeps traffic closer to home for a snappier experience.

Nearshoring & Business Growth

Mexico's growing manufacturing and nearshoring sectors need reliable business applications, ERP systems and supplier portals close to their operations.

Booming E-commerce

Online shopping in Mexico keeps growing, with major sales events like El Buen Fin. Local hosting helps your store stay fast when traffic spikes.

Built for Spanish-Language Sites

Host Spanish-language websites and services right where much of your audience lives, instead of routing Mexican users through servers abroad.

Bridge to North & Central America

Mexico City is typically around 35–40 ms from Houston and Dallas, making it a practical link between Mexico, the US and Central America.

Network Reach

Low-Latency Reach From Your Mexico VPS

A VPS in Mexico City keeps your server close to Mexico's largest population centres. Querétaro, Guadalajara and Monterrey are typically within about 5–15 ms, which means faster page loads and more responsive applications for Mexican users.

Mexico City also has good reach towards Texas and the southern United States. Keep in mind that routing inside Latin America varies by ISP, so for audiences mainly in South America, our São Paulo and Santiago locations are usually the better choice — at the same price.

From Mexico City toTypical latency
Querétaro, Mexico~5 ms
Guadalajara, Mexico~10 ms
Monterrey, Mexico~15 ms
Houston, USA~35 ms
Dallas, USA~40 ms
Miami, USA~50 ms
Los Angeles, USA~55 ms
New York, USA~65 ms
Bogotá, Colombia~80 ms

Approximate round-trip times over typical routes. Real-world latency varies with your ISP, peering and time of day.

Use Cases

What You Can Run on a Mexico VPS

From online stores to factory systems, a Mexico City VPS gives Mexican businesses dedicated resources and complete control.

Mexican E-commerce

Host WooCommerce, Magento or PrestaShop stores for shoppers across Mexico, with NVMe storage keeping pages fast during El Buen Fin and Hot Sale.

ERP & Manufacturing Apps

Run ERP systems, supplier portals, inventory tools and production dashboards for factories and logistics companies operating in Mexico.

Fintech & Payments

Deploy payment integrations, lending platforms and financial dashboards for Mexico's fast-growing fintech sector.

Spanish-Language Media

Power news portals, blogs, podcasts and content platforms for Spanish-speaking audiences in Mexico and beyond.

Streaming & Media Delivery

Serve video, audio and large downloads to Mexican audiences, backed by included DDoS protection.

SaaS for Latin America

Launch SaaS products, CRMs and APIs for Mexican and Latin American customers, and scale from a small VPS to 32 GB RAM.

Plan Guide

Which Mexico VPS Plan Is Right for You?

All 34 plans share the same KVM platform, NVMe storage and Mexico City network. The only difference is how much CPU, memory, disk and bandwidth you get, so the right choice depends on what you plan to run.

1–2 GB RAM

Starter Projects

With 1–2 GB RAM and a single CPU core, these plans suit personal websites, landing pages, a small WordPress blog, a private VPN, Discord or Telegram bots, cron jobs and development sandboxes. They are the most affordable way to get root access and a dedicated IP in Mexico City.

4–8 GB RAM

Growing Businesses

Our most popular range. 4–8 GB RAM and 2–4 cores comfortably run WooCommerce stores, several WordPress sites behind a control panel, Node.js or Laravel apps, internal tools and CI runners. Most businesses serving Mexico start here.

8–16 GB RAM

Performance Workloads

8–16 CPU cores and 16–32 GB RAM give you room for busy databases, SaaS platforms, Docker and Kubernetes nodes, high-traffic media sites, analytics pipelines and several production services on one server.

16 GB RAM and above

Data-Heavy & High Concurrency

With 16–32 GB RAM and 8–16 CPU cores, these plans handle large databases, search engines, media processing, CPU-based AI inference and enterprise applications that need to stay close to users in Mexico.

Not sure where to start? Pick the smaller plan that fits today and upgrade as you grow — moving from one Mexico VPS plan to a larger one usually needs only a brief restart and your data stays in place. Because every Vebloom region prints its plans and prices up front, adding servers in other regions later is just as easy to budget for.

Included

Everything Included With Every Mexico VPS

No setup fees and no paid add-ons for the essentials — every plan ships with the same core features.

Instant Deployment

Your Mexico VPS is provisioned automatically, usually within about 60 seconds of payment. Choose your operating system, set your credentials and connect — no ticket queue and no manual setup delays.

DDoS Protection

Multi-layer DDoS mitigation is included on every plan at no extra cost. Malicious traffic is filtered before it reaches your server, helping keep your Mexico City VPS online during attacks.

Full Root Access

Complete administrative control over your server. Install any software stack, tune kernel parameters, write your own firewall rules and run whatever services your project needs — no restrictions.

NVMe SSD Storage

All plans use NVMe SSD storage, which reads and writes far faster than traditional SATA SSDs. The result is quicker page loads, snappier databases and faster builds and backups.

Automated Backups

Daily automated backups keep your data safe, with seven days of snapshots available so you can restore your VPS to a previous state if an update or deployment goes wrong.

24/7 Expert Support

Our engineers are available around the clock via live chat, email and WhatsApp to help with provisioning, networking and server-level issues whenever you need them.

Data Residency

Data Protection & Residency in Mexico

In Mexico, personal data held by private companies is governed by the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP), which sets out rules on privacy notices, consent, data subject rights and transfers of personal data. Businesses that handle Mexican customer data are expected to protect it with appropriate security measures.

Hosting your VPS in Mexico City keeps the data stored on that server inside Mexico. That can simplify data residency conversations with Mexican customers, partners and enterprises, particularly in sectors such as finance, healthcare and government services where local hosting is often preferred.

Server location is only one part of compliance. With full root access to your Mexico VPS, you control encryption, access management, logging, backups and data retention, and you remain responsible for meeting your obligations under Mexican law. Our team is happy to discuss your requirements before you deploy.

Setting Up Your Mexico VPS

From Order to a Secure Server: Your First Hour on a Mexico VPS

A VPS gives you full control, which means the setup is yours to do. These steps are the ones we recommend for any new server in Mexico City, Mexico.

1Choose the Operating System

Most websites and applications run on Linux. Ubuntu LTS and Debian are the most common choices, because they are widely documented, receive long security support and are easy to find help for. AlmaLinux and Rocky Linux suit people who prefer the Red Hat family. Choose Windows only when you need Windows software, such as .NET applications or trading terminals.

Pick the system you or your developer already know. A familiar system is easier to secure and to fix when something goes wrong.

2Log In and Update the Server

After your Mexico VPS is delivered, you receive its IP address and login details. Connect from a terminal with SSH, using the root login first, then update the system straight away so that known security fixes are installed.

  • Connect with ssh root@your-server-ip and change the root password if you are asked to
  • Update the package list and installed software with the system's package manager, such as apt update && apt upgrade on Ubuntu or Debian
  • Restart the server if the update installs a new kernel
  • Set the server's time zone and hostname so that logs are easy to read

3Secure Access Before Anything Else

A public server is probed within minutes of going online, so secure access first. Create a normal user with sudo rights, add an SSH key for it, and then disable password logins and direct root login in the SSH settings. Keys are far harder to guess than passwords.

  • Create a new user and give it sudo rights
  • Generate a key pair on your computer with ssh-keygen -t ed25519 and copy the public key to the server
  • Turn off password authentication and root login in the SSH configuration, then test a new session before closing the old one
  • Turn on a firewall such as UFW, and allow only the ports you need (SSH, and 80 and 443 for web)
  • Install Fail2ban to block repeated failed logins

Always keep one working SSH session open while you change SSH or firewall settings, so that a mistake does not lock you out.

4Install Your Web Stack

Install only what you need. A typical website uses a web server (Nginx or Apache), PHP or another runtime, and a database such as MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL. A Node.js application usually runs behind Nginx as a reverse proxy, managed with a process manager.

Add HTTPS with a free certificate from Let's Encrypt, using Certbot, and set it to renew automatically. Point your domain's A record at the server's IP address, and give DNS a little time to spread. If you need a domain, you can register one with us.

5Backups and Monitoring

A server without backups is a risk waiting to happen. Schedule daily backups of your files and databases and keep copies in a different place from the server, then test restoring one. Monitor disk space, memory and CPU, and set up an uptime check that emails you when the site stops responding.

Updates matter too. Turn on automatic security updates where suitable, and review the server once a month.

6When to Upgrade or Add Servers

Watch your resource use over a few weeks. If memory, CPU or disk are regularly near their limit, move to a larger plan. If you need to serve users in another part of the world, add a second server in that region rather than overloading one location. Our guide to choosing a VPS location explains how to decide.

More Questions

More About a Mexico VPS

Extra answers for new server owners.

Do I need to know Linux to use a VPS?
Basic command-line skills help a lot, because you manage the server yourself. If you would rather not, ask our team about setup, or choose managed web hosting.
How quickly is my server ready?
Provisioning is automated, so most servers are ready shortly after payment is confirmed, and the login details are sent to you.
Can I run a website and a database on the same VPS?
Yes. Many small and medium sites run the web server and database together. Larger projects separate them as traffic grows.
Can I install a control panel?
Yes. Because you have root access, you can install a control panel of your choice, or manage the server directly from the command line.
Can I use the VPS for email?
You can, but running reliable email takes care with DNS records, reputation and security. Many businesses use a hosted mailbox and keep the VPS for applications.
What if I choose the wrong location?
A VPS stays in the location it was ordered in, so choose carefully. To change, order a server in the new place and move your data across.
